The administration of President Donald Trump implements visa sanctions for four countries that refuse to accept the return of their citizens deported for criminal offenses by the United States.
The New York Times reported Wednesday (13/09/2017). the four countries are Cambodia, Eritrea, Guinea and Sierra Leone. "International law requires every country to receive their deported citizens from the United States," said Elaine Duke, acting US Secretary of Homeland Security. '' And the four countries do not want to be responsible for the provision, '' he continued.
Sanctions imposed by the US, among others, limit the number of visas for citizens of the four countries who want to visit the US. In addition, the US also delayed the approval of visas to them.
The sanctions is declaredby the US because the four countries are not willing to provide documents or passports for those deported by the US.
Under the terms of the US Supreme Court, the Washington Government is not allowed to jailforeign immigrants whose country is unwilling to accept them back.
One of the cases is Haitian immigrants named Jean Jacques. The criminal, who was detained for several years for the murder case, was released in 2012 because he has no official documents or passports from the Haitian Government.
The reason for the released is because Jean Jacques can not show that he is a Haitian citizen. In 2015, Jacques was sentenced to 60 years in prison for killing a woman from Norwich, Connecticut.
According to US Homeland Security office data, there are 700 Eritrians who should be deported from the United States but they are not accepted by the Asmara Government.
Then there are about 1,900 Cambodians deported, and 1,412 of whom are criminals.
ICE immigration officers, managed to force 2,137 citizens of Guinea and 831 citizens of Sierra Leon returned to their homeland, due to criminal acts.
