WorldMozaic - Qatar Bought 24 Fighter Jets from UK

The Qatar government signed an agreement to purchase 24 Typhoon fighter jets from Britain on Sunday (17/09/2017).

The purchase of the fighter jet was done in the midst of a long diplomatic dispute with some of its neighbors.

Qatar Defense Minister Khalid bin Mohammed al Attiyah and British Foreign Secretary Michael Fallon signed a "statement of intent" for Britain to sell the planes according to a statement issued by London.

"This will be the first major defense contract with Qatar, one of Britain's strategic partners," said Fallon.

"This is an important moment in our defense relationship and the basis for closer defense cooperation between our two countries," he said.

British Ambassador to Doha Ajay Sharma announced the deal via Twitter, calling it a 'big step' in defense relations between the two countries.

But there is no statement from Qatar about the deal.

How will the neighboring country, like Saudi Arabia, UAE, etc response? We'll see it in a few days to come.
