Former Director of Trump Campaign Once Tapped by the FBI

WorldMozaic - Former Trump Campaign Manager Once Tapped by the FBI

US investigators tapped telephone conversations and communications of Paul Manafort, former Trump's campaign manager team, by court order.

In an exclusive report, CNN reported on Monday (18/09/2017), wiretapping was done during the campaign in 2016, and early 2017. A number of high-ranking US intelligence officials said a number of communications were collected because Manafort suspected of encouraging Russia to help Trump campaign.

The secret tapping order, issued by US courts under the Foreign Intelligence Recognition Act, FISA. It began in 2014, when Manafort began to be suspected by the Federal Investigative Agency, the FBI. Paul Manafort, who has now been dismissed from Donald Trump's circle, leads a consulting group in Washington for the Ukrainian government.

Another source said the investigation order was issued, and became part of an FBI investigation investigating the relationship between Trump and Russian networks. It was unclear when the order of inquiry began, but some CNN sources said the order of inquiry was done early in 2017. That is when the FBI searched the Manafort documents storage warehouse. Not yet known what evidence the FBI got.

Paul Manafort denied allegations that he had communicated with Russian intelligence, during the 2016 presidential election. The former Trump's campaign manager also denied joining Russia to undermine US interests. The FBI then stopped wiretapping in June 2016, when Donald Trump Jr., Trump's eldest son held secret talks with a Russian lawyer at Trump Tower.

The grace period is an important proof for investigator Robert Mueller's team to determine whether there is strong evidence to suggest a link between Russian officials and the Trump side.
