WorldMozaic - 217 thousand people were evacuated in China due to Typhoons.
At least 217,000 residents of Zhejiang Province and Fujian Province were evacuated due to Typhoon Talim and Doksuri, the China Flood and Drought Management Agency said.
The two storms also forced the Phoenix International Airport, Sanya, on Hainan Island, canceled 178 flight schedules during Thursday (14/09/2017) and Friday (15/09/2017).
The storm crosses Zhejiang, Fujian, and Hainan before moving towards Japan and Vietnam.
Doksuri which is the 19th cyclone this year caused massive storms and heavy rains in China's southern coast since Friday, the Meteorological Agency said.
Chief Forecasts of China Meteorological Agency, Zhang Ling, said that during January-September 2017 there were 19 times typhoon or 2.8 times more than the same period last year.
12 typhoons hit China's territory until July, four in August, and three in September.
Of the 19 typhoons, seven have caused landslides. More over in just three weeks since August 23, five typhoons have caused the disaster.
Hurricane Hato in Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macau provinces has left eight people dead and caused material losses to billions of yuan.
"We are still actively watching the typhoon and we expect some more typhoons before the end of the year, although there are fewer numbers," Zhang said, as reported by Xinhua.
Asked if the frequent storms in China since July were linked to global warming, some weather watchers said there was no data leading to it.
Meanwhile, until this news was revealed some officers conducted mitigation measures and removed the fallen tree trunks swept away in Typhoon in Zhejiang, Fujian, and Hainan.
